A beautiful pair of vintage Johnson Bros Old English plates in the Eastbourne pattern, made in England. The plates feature a soft powder-blue geometric border with delicate floral sprays in pink, yellow and blue, framed by fine gold detailing. The softly scalloped, textured edge is finished with a fine gilt rim, giving them a particularly pretty traditional English tableware feel. The backstamp reads Old English, Johnson Bros, Made in England. The Eastbourne pattern is documented as part of the Old English range and examples are dated to the late 1940s–1950s.

Condition
Good vintage condition with some light age-related surface marks and gentle wear to the gilt decoration. There is some light crazing/age-related marking visible on close inspection, consistent with their age. No major chips or cracks visible.

Why We Love It
The combination of powder blue, tiny floral bouquets and gold detailing is so classic English vintage china. They have that slightly formal, old-fashioned look but would be lovely mixed into a more eclectic table setting with simpler pieces.
